~ Strengthening Our Intuitive Faculties

Mercury retrograde cycles, which happen 3-4 times a year, are necessary and healthy periods of rest, reflection & integration for our psyches. No one can just keep moving forward endlessly; that is the definition of burnout! This gives us ALL time to sit back, relax, take it in, and integrate.
I KNOW to survive & thrive in our capitalist, social media driven and technological society, we need Mercury! He governs our thoughts, mental activity, communication, technology, travel, etc. Our world has inherently become more mercurial just over the last 20+ years.
This can make Mercury retrograde that much more daunting, but nonetheless necessary (maybe even more so). To embrace Mercury retrograde is to embrace the parts of us that need to slow down, rest, reevaluate, and recuperate.
Not always easy–especially when the society we live in has the attitude that we should keep drudging forward endlessly, regardless of our natural cycles. Just do what you can where you can to honor yourself, honor life, and honor going inward.
Mercury in Pisces can be watery and confusing; it can feel a bit like you’re swimming under water. We can also be a little sensi. It's a great time to disconnect from our phones, social media, technology, etc. as much as possible. Take a bath, put on some music, read a book, and leave a little breathing room for the delays & frays that may come up during this time.
Mercury retrograding through Pisces is giving us an incredible opportunity to dive deeper into our intuitive faculties and operate more fully from a sensory perspective. Pisces, a highly intuitive sign, is prompting us to align our mental activity more fully with our intuition. This requires us to feel our way through, and to move through the world communicating from a deeper recess of our sensual experience.
Pisces also promotes compassion, vulnerability, humility, and non-judgment, which when our psyches are in reflection gives us a potent time to integrate the darker parts of our ego. When we find tolerance & acceptance for the parts of ourselves we find “bad” or “negative” we also find tolerance & acceptance for others. When we reject others, we are actually rejecting an aspect of ourselves.
Questions to ask:
• Where in our lives do we need more trust & compassion for ourselves and others?
• How can we lovingly accept that the terrible words & actions we see happening in the world are just aspects of ourselves we have repressed or denied?
• How can we hold with open arms & nurturance that we are what we see in the world?
• How can we move forward with more togetherness as opposed to separateness?
Our lessons right now are about tolerance, and about how much we are all actually connected. It isn’t until we can integrate the nasty, the cruel, and the fearful aspects of ourselves that we can actually fully embody who we are as humans and move forward with more harmony.
This isn’t a short order, but we didn’t come into this life to live in mediocrity. We came into this life to squeeze out every last juicy drop of our experiences. We came here to fully embrace the light of life, which also means to fully embrace the shadows & darkness.
My hope during this Mercury retrograde is that we allow ourselves to integrate these dark parts of ourselves that we see reflected within and around us in our lives so that we can create more togetherness. Mercury retrograde in Pisces is a blessing in that it gives us a propensity to have compassion and move forward from the heart.
